International Business

 

• St. Regis Temenos Villas, Anguilla BWI, (St. Regis Hotels and Resorts) - acting on behalf of the Developer, Sheehan handled the necessary land acquisitions, including an existing resort and adjoining acreage from government and private land owners; governmental approvals, permits and licenses necessary for operations in Anguilla.

 

• AT&T Wireless Anguilla - acting on behalf of AT&T Wireless, Sheehan managed the company’s efforts to obtain the first telecommunications license issued by the Government of Anguilla under its newly established Public Utilities Commission; the

subsequent build-out of the system and concession negotiations with the Government of Anguilla.

 

• Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the Anguilla Electricity Company – acting on behalf of Anguilla Electricity Company, wholly owned by the Government of Anguilla, Sheehan handled the first IPO issued in Anguilla pursuant to the Eastern Caribbean Stock Exchange Commission.

 

• Stewart Title Eastern Caribbean (STEC) – acting as council and co-founder, Sheehan joined with Stewart Title to establish STEC throughout the Eastern Caribbean, having its principal office in Anguilla, West Indies.

 

• Northern Islands Interconnection Project - acting on behalf of Anguilla’s sole supplier and distributor of electricity, Sheehan provided the legal expertise necessary for the islands of Anguilla, St. Martin (French West Indies), Sint Maarten (Netherlands Antilles) and French St. Bart's (French West Indies) to evaluate the creation of a jointly owned and operated electrical distribution facility.

 

• Offshore Banking – as counsel for Caribbean Commercial Bank Anguilla Limited and Bank of Nova Scotia (Anguilla Office), as well as various international ventures, Sheehan provided guidance on banking regulations, relationships and performance.

 

Sheehan has represents foreign based manufacturers, distributors and other business enterprises in disputes surrounding failure to perform, collections and general contract matters.
